LOTUS HYPNOSIS

is dedicated to healing through the power of the subconscious mind. Each client receives personalized strategies to explore, empower and enhance their quality of life.

Why a Lotus

The lotus, a water flower native to Asia, symbolizes purity, enlightenment, self-regulation and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition. Even when its roots are in muddy waters, the lotus produces the most beautiful flower. The lotus can be linked to an awakened mind, which grows naturally to the warmth and light of truth, love and compassion.

Hypnosis:
Evidenced Based Practice

When you think about hypnosis, do you see a magician or a comedy act forcing a volunteer to embarrass themselves on stage? While hypnosis can be used for entertainment, it has a robust scientific framework for healing. Clinical research has shown hypnosis can help relieve pain, anxiety, smoking cessation, weight loss and sleep. Guided hypnosis and self-hypnosis can be used to manage stress, cope with life’s challenges and improve both physical and emotional health.

Hypnotherapy has been used in various forms for centuries. In 1843, Scottish surgeon James Braid, MD popularized the term “hypnosis.” His discovery that concentration can guide the brain towards a more suggestible state formed the foundation for applications for a wide variety of conditions. This provides the ideal backdrop for positive transformation.

Integrative medicine is moving into the research focus of leading institutions including the National Institute of Health, The Cleveland Clinic, The Mayo Clinic and Harvard are investigating evidenced-based approaches to treatment of the whole person – body, mind and soul. Hypnotherapy is a component of this approach to optimize health and healing.

The Magic of Self Healing:

Somatic Therapy

The long term impact of a global pandemic continues to be downplayed. Our nervous system was forced to function in sympathetic overdrive. This “fight or flight” response can lead to significant psychological and physical impairments. We have the ability to create a parasympathetic shift to our mind and body to promote health. Your parasympathetic nervous system is a network of nerves that relaxes your body after periods of stress or danger. It also helps run life-sustaining processes, like digestion, during times when you feel safe and relaxed. The informal descriptions for this system include the rhymes “rest and digest” or “feed and breed.” Lotus Hypnosis can guide you to master strategies to promote this transition leading to feelings of calmness, peace and gratitude.

According to Amanda Baker, director of the Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital, somatic therapy may be a new concept for many. This treatment focuses on the body and how emotions appear within the body. Somatic therapies are based on the idea that our body holds and expresses experiences, emotions and traumatic events. Somatic therapy uses various mind-body techniques which can include hypnosis, breathwork, body awareness, pendulation and resourcing. Lotus Hypnosis offers a variety of somatic therapy interventions to optimize healing and recovery.
